A number of events and classes of interest to both the general public and massage therapists have been scheduled. Visit Vitalize Community Studio for a calendar of events specific to this venue.  Vitalize Community Studio opened January 1, 2010.  The studio is co-owned by the founders of Utah Prenatal Massage and offers classes, seminars and workshops focused on movement, connection, and transformation.

Free Vitalize Wellness Forum: Nurturing Your Relationship After Childbirth and Beyond, Saturday, June 19th, 3-5 p.m.

Presenters will discuss how relationships change after having children, how men and women cope differently, and how to come to a new understanding of yourself  and a new appreciation of your partner. Presenters include Brigg Noyes, PhD, counseling psychologist and Guruprasad Singh, MA, LPC, psychotherapist, yogi, and KRI-Certified Kundalini Yoga instructor. Mother Massage: Massage During Pregnancy Certification Workshop

Friday - Sunday, July 9-11, Utah College of Massage Therapy, 25 South 300 East, Salt Lake City. Register at  www.SteinerCE.com or contact Jessica Porter at 860-667-1886. Learn the physiology of pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery as well as the skills and appropriate bodywork techniques necessary to massage your clients competently from their first trimester through labor and postpartum recovery. Hands-on work includes full body prenatal massage in 5 different ways, labor support massage and postpartum massage. Special attention is paid to high risk pregnancies, treating the most common discomforts of pregnancy, contraindications and precautions of prenatal massage.

INFANT MASSAGE EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION COURSE

Thursday thru Sunday, Sept. 9-12. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Taught by Laura Charlton of Infant Massage USA at Vitalize Community Studio. This course offers the training part of the certification requirements for becoming an infant massage instructor.
